Healing Reiki? What Does Science Say?

Yes, real scientific studies have been conducted that validate this observation. In Calgary the a cancer institute there did a study last year to actually measure the healing effect of reiki on cancer patients. The results were so astonashing they were published in American medical journals. Apparently they could measure the effect of the reiki, eliminating the placebo effect, and proving that reiki helped to sooth certain forms of cancer when drugs had no chance. In Israel a long reaching survey followed about 10,000 civil servants for a period of 26 years. They found that deeply religious jews were less likely to die of cardio vascular problems than their secular brethren. A 1995 study from a college in Hanover, monitored 250 people after open-heart surgery. They concluded that those who believed in religion and had some kind of social support were twelve times less likely to die than those who had none.
At the university of New Mexico they are studying the power of prayer to heal alcoholics. And there is a prayer-and-healing study in progress at the nation's leading naturopathic-training institute.
393 patients admitted to the coronary-care unit at San Francisco general hospital were studied aswell. Home-prayer groups prayed for some of the patients, others were not prayed for. Apparently no one knew who they were praying for not the doctors, nurses and certianly not the patients. The results were very surprising to scientists. The patients whose medical care was supported with prayer needed far fewer drugs and spent less time on ventilators.
Thus,healing reiki works like prayer, and is used when a person or animal is in need of healing. Since the reiki is not limited by time, space or distance the one receiving the energy, and the reiki practitioner can be half a world away from one another and the reiki is just as effective.
